This website is great and all, but some of you may be aware that there are more websites other than this one that are important to the rolling industry.
Online Shops
First off, I’m going to talk about some of the great online shops. There are lots of reasons to shop at different stores, for example you may be looking for the cheapest products, or you may be looking for the products of better quality and care. If you are looking for cheap products and deals, you may want to check out rollersnakes. The problem with this website is that it is not skate centric, and so it’s main focus isn’t keeping care of, or promoting and stocking products from the rolling industry. Which moves us onto our favorite retailer. Locoskates is a shop based in Coasts original hometown of Eastbourne, but it is also considered by us to be one of the best skate shops around. I’ve seen people going into Loco to buy a skateboard or heely’s, and coming out with a pair of Razor Cult 6′s*. The prices are about medium, but the focus of the shop is rollerblading, so you can expect all their products to be in mint condition, and also Jake Eley (ex. K2 rider) who runs the shop can help you make the right decision with his wide knowledge of the products. Also, all wheels come pre-frozen, because apparently it makes them last longer.
Forums
I’m now going to talk about forums and communities. Theres lots of different forums over the net, some of them put on there for sharing edits, some are for making new rolling friends. Some just have a general chat section. I’ve recently signed up to RollingEdits forum. It looks good so far, maybe the best forum so far that I’ve experienced. It is mainly for rolling edits, but theres other sections for general chat, news, graphics etc. If I end up not liking it, I will edit this. If your a UK skater, and want to hook up though, you are better going on Ukskate.com. It is not very active, but you are more likely to skate with someone on there then you are on RollingEdits.
Miscellaneous
Ok, now onto miscellaneous skating websites. Heres a website which may prove useful just to know. If your ever watching a skating DVD and you like the sound of that song but don’t know what it’s called, just use the search engine on RollingVideos.com. It is the largest online database of skating videos. It has almost all skating videos ever released.
Press
Rolling press is growing in the UK, although it may not seem like it, with Unity disappearing, and Daily Bread almost following it’s footsteps (although it’s doing well again now). We now have Kingdom Magazine, which is an online magazine which comes out approximately every 2 months in PDF format. Kingdom have also been talking about a print version! Check it out at kingdom-mag.co.uk. Also you might want to check out the rolling revival rollcasts at rollingrevival.com.
Thats it for now, I may add content to this page, but for now heres links to all the websites mentioned above.
